Patrón Extra Añejo 7 Años

Patrón Spirits has unveiled Patrón Extra Añejo 7 Años, the oldest tequila the brand has ever produced.

The story of this unplanned tequila – Patrón’s first-ever limited edition – begins more than seven years ago when just over 30 French oak barrels of ultra-premium Patrón tequila were tucked away in the aging room at the Hacienda Patrón distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The barrels were initially intended to age for a year, but that year went by and then another, and as the aging room grew and the barrels were moved about, a full seven years had passed. And when the tequila from those barrels was tasted, the discovery was that conditions in that particular area of the barrel room created an ideal microclimate to produce extra-aged tequila.

Patrón Extra Añejo 7 Años has a dark golden hue, a pronounced woody aroma and flavor, and a smooth and sweet taste, with notes of dry fruits, citrus, and light caramel. To commemorate the exclusivity of this tequila, Patrón Extra Añejo 7 Años is presented in a replica of the first handblown glass Patrón bottle, made from the original mold. The bottle is finished with the original Patrón glass stopper, a further nod to the nature of this release.

While supplies last, Patrón Extra Añejo 7 Años is available at fine spirits purveyors nationwide for a suggested retail price of $299 (750ml; 80 proof).
