Khortytsa Vodka Gets into the Ring

Khortytsa Vodka (pronounced “Hor-Ti-Tsa”) was the official sponsor of the Gennady Golovkin v. Willie Monroe Middleweight World Championship fight held Saturday, May 16 at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA, and broadcast on HBO.

Golovkin, 32-0 (29KO’s) defended his World Boxing Association, International Boxing Organization and “Interim” World Boxing Council Middleweight World Titles against the #2-ranked challenger Monroe, 19-1-0 (6KO’s).

Golovkin claimed his 20th consecutive knockout victory and retained his WBA middleweight crown against Monroe.  The 33-year-old floored Monroe twice in the second round before landing the decisive blow 45 seconds into the sixth.

The former Olympian, defending his title for a 14th time, has knocked out all his opponents since June 2008.

Those watching live or via HBO saw the Khortytsa Vodka brand name on the canvas, turnbuckles and ring girls. Also, brand staged a photo area for fans where Golovkin posed on the canvas with Khortytsa ring girls.

Khortytsa has a taste that has been described as, “spring water clear with a big, assertive, snack cracker/grain aroma. Toasty on the palate, it is dry with a creamy texture. A winner on all levels,” according to a press release.

Khortytsa is imported to the United States by Global Spirits USA. The product retails for a suggested $14.99/per 750ml.
