Bacardi toasted Cuban culture last night at the Bacrdi Rum Cuban Independence Day annual celebration.

Bacardi brought the spotlight to talented Cuban musicians at this year’s event, which celebrates Cuba’s independence from Spain.

Included in the event was the premier of UNTAMEABLE, a three-minute docu-short featuring Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, created in partnership by one of the Bacardí family’s musicians, Maria Bacardi, and Edgaro Gonzalez and directed by Benjamin del Castillo.

Grammy-award-winning drummer El Negro, made an appearance, taking the stage with Grammy-nominated vocalist and percussionist Pedrito Martinez, Boris Larramendi and international musical collective (U)nity featuring Xiomara Laugart and Johonatan Hoard at Manhattan’s Arena in the heart of Times Square.

Inspired by the Golden Age of Cuba, attendees enjoyed sounds of Cuban artists, photo shoots with classic Havana-style cars, authentic hand-rolled Cuban cigars, and the Bacardi Cuba Libre cocktails.
