Opal Nera and Opal Bianca are two new sambucas available from Crillon Importers and Distillerie Francoli. Opal Nera, the black sambuca, is back on the U.S. market after a decade-long hiatus. They are distilled using beets and alpine water from Italy. Opal Bianca is distilled using a similar method, but the ingredients include Sicilian lemon peels and northern Italian elderflowers. The 80-proof liqueurs are both available for a suggested retail price of $20.00.
