Don And Sons Custard Chardonnay

Custard Chard bottle 004

Don and Sons has announced a new wine, their 2013 Custard Chardonnay.

This “comfort wine” is rich and creamy on the nose, according to the company, with flavors of toasted almond and vanilla derived from six months of French-oak aging. Predominant tasting notes include tropical fruit, warm citrus and pomelo.

The flavor concept was inspired by owner Don Sebastiani’s childhood love of glazed donuts with cream custard filling. Don and Sons recommends pairing their 2013 Custard Chardonnay with halibut in cream sauce, corn chowder or lemon-oregano chicken.

The 2013 Custard Chardonnay was grown in Sonoma Valley, California. It has a 14.1% ABV, 3.76 pH, and a suggested retail price of $21.99.

Other Don and Sons releases include their 2013 B Side Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP: $27.99), 2013 Sivas-Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc ($16.99), 2013 Sivas-Sonoma Zinfadel ($22.99) and 2012 Sivas-Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon ($22.99).
