Boca Loca Cachaça Bottle, Brand Updates

Boca Loca Cachaça is looking different these days.

Bottle and barrelIn 2014, a new management team was put in place to capitalize on the growing popularity of cachaça and Brazilian culture. Under the direction of Chief Operating Officer David Thompson and Chief Marketing Officer Jessica Head, Boca Loca Cachaça underwent a brand overhaul, including a repositioning of the brand to “better reflect its quality product” in the logo and website redesign, package redesign, and new sales material, the company says.

The former Boca Loca bottle featured a red logo with “lipstick” typestyle. The new, improved Boca Loca logo and packaging features a “bold, vibrant design,” the company says.

What’s inside the Boca Loca bottle, however, did not change. Produced by Brazil’s Thoquino family — one of the country’s “first families” of cachaça for 107 years — Boca Loca is made from organic, hand-harvested sugar cane on the family’s plantation just north of Rio de Janiero.  It has complex flavor notes and smooth, fragrant finish, the company says.

The new packaging is currently entering the U.S. market. Distributed in the U.S. since 2007, Boca Loca Cachaça is currently available in 32 states.
