The French spirits group La Martiniquaise has named 375 Park Avenue Spirits as the exclusive United States importer for its Saint-Vivant Armagnac brand.
Produced in France, Saint-Vivant is currently the number two producer of Armagnac worldwide, the company said.
The brand, which dates back to 1559, is produced from fruit grown in the Bas-Armagnac and Ténarèze regions. The Armagnacs of Saint-Vivant are then distilled using the classical technique of distillation traditionnelle armagnacaise, the company says, followed by aging in French oak barrels until mature.
Each of the brand’s expressions (VS, VSOP, Napoleon, and XO) is presented in bottles with inclined necks that feature a wax seal and parchment label.
Commenting on the appointment, Christophe Pichambert, International Director of La Martiniquaise said, “It is a long-term partnership, and we are very enthusiastic about the growth potential that the US market offers, especially for premium Armagnacs.”
The appointment is effective December 1.
375 Park Avenue Spirits is a division of the Sazerac Company.
375 Park Avenue Spirits will introduce new Saint-Vivant marques in 16 existing markets (CA, CO, CT, DC, ID, IL, ME, MT, NJ, NY, NV, SC, VT, WA, WI, WY) as well as expand the brand into another eight markets (AZ, MA, MD, GA, FL, IN, MO, MI) in 2016.
“We pride ourselves on working with niche brands of superior quality and as such Saint-Vivant Armagnac is an ideal addition to the 375 Park portfolio with it’s with long heritage, superb quality and exceptional taste,” said Norman Bonchick, Chairman and CEO of 375 Park Avenue Spirits.
