Napa Valley’s Mira Winery has released its first vintage of the winery’s 2012 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wine has been described as “beautifully balanced, displaying elegance paired with the fruit forwardness expected of a Napa Cabernet,” the company said.
This vintage drinks well today, the company added, or is ideal for cellaring over the next 15–20 years.
The suggested retail price is $95 per 750-ml. bottle.
The 2012 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from 100% Cabernet grapes grown in the Stags Leap District AVA in Napa. Barrel fermented in small oak tanks, and aged in 100% new French oak for 26 months, this wine has deep, dark fruit characteristics.
Mira is offering a gift set that includes this selection: The two-bottle Diamond Holiday Set is $145, ground shipping included. Containing wine from Stags Leap, and Napa Valley’s Los Carneros, this set also includes a bottle of Mira’s 2013 Hyde Pinot Noir (released earlier this fall) packaged together with the Cabernet in a holiday box.
In addition this holiday season, Mira will reward shoppers by offering 10 percent off the purchase of 10 or more of any of the Diamond Holiday set, the company said, or any of the winery’s other holiday gift sets or 20 percent off on orders of 20 or more sets. (Due to state law, Mira cannot currently ship to South Carolina addresses, but will coordinate for delivery or pick-up at Mira’s tasting room at 68 1/2 Queen Street in downtown Charleston.)
