Pendleton Whisky Acquired by Jose Cuervo Parent Company

Mexico City-based Becle has agreed to acquire the Pendleton whisky brand assets from Hood River Distillers for $205 million.

The deal includes Pendleton Midnight, Pendleton 1910 and Pendleton Directors’ Reserve expression, in addition to the core Pendleton whisky.

The Hood River, OR-based distiller launched Pendleton whisky in 2003 and grew it to annual sales volume of more than 250,000 nine-liter cases. It will continue to bottle the Pendleton portfolio and operate with its remaining brands which include Sinfire whiskey, Big gin and Lucid absinthe.

Becle, which operates in the U.S. as Proximo Spirits, has a portfolio of brands that includes Jose Cuervo tequila; Three Olives; Hangar 1; Stranahan’s Rocky Mountain single malt whiskey, Bushmills Irish whiskey, The Kraken black spiced rum and Boodles British gin.
