Jameson Announces Next Two Caskmates Craft Beer-Aged Whiskies

Jameson Irish Whiskey has unveiled the next two entries in its popular Caskmates series that ages the spirit in used craft beer barrels.

This newest duo features the “hyper local” breweries Revolution Brewing and Bale Breaker Brewing, from Logan Square, Chicago, and Yakima, WA, respectively.

“Jameson’s commitment to local neighborhoods is the cornerstone of our connection with whiskey drinkers and local tastemakers, across the country,” says Paul Di Vito, VP, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Pernod Ricard USA. “Having the opportunity to highlight a shared passion for artistry, with two breweries that have been a part of the Jameson family since the inception of Drinking Buddies program in 2015, is a great feat for everyone involved.”

The result is Jameson Caskmates Bale Breaker Limited Edition, and Jameson Caskmates Revolution Brewing Limited Edition. Both are 40% ABV.

Jameson Caskmates Bale Breaker has a nose of hops with delicate floral notes, the company says, with a palate of citrus notes with some spices and vanilla, before a finish of hops that fade into notes of oak and spice.

Jameson Caskmates Revolution Brewing has a nose of fruits, grapefruit and lingering sweet notes, the company reports, with a palate of both hops and vanilla, before a finish of spice character and hops that fade into lingering fruit notes and toasted oak.

Both are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $29.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
