Sutter Home Family Vineyards has announced the nationwide launch of its newest release, a California-style Sangria.
This Sangria brings together the flavors of fresh oranges, berries, lemons, limes with a fruity California wine, the company says. Sutter Home Sangria is inspired by traditional Spanish Sangria, but this wine has a California style: it’s lighter and juicier, the company says, with subtle hints of citrus and spice.
Wine drinkers today are increasingly turning to Sangria, driving the category up +7.2% in dollar sales versus a year ago, the company says. According to Nielsen, total retail sales in the $4 – $6.99 Sangria 750-mL price segment is showing growth up 8.5% versus last year.
The Sutter Home Sangria is made from 100% premium California red wine. The winemaking team ferments the juice in stainless steel to preserve a fresh fruit character, the company says. A hint of natural residual grape sugar is added to the wine to give it the preferred amount of juicy sweetness. The final blend is then infused with all natural fruit essences and spices.
The suggested retail price is $5.99 for the 750-mL bottle and $5.99 for a single-serve 4-pack.
