NABCA Names Eddie Wirt CFO

Eddie Wirt joins the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA) as its senior Vice President/chief financial officer. In this role, Wirt will help to align the association’s financial resources with strategic objectives and oversee the finance, meetings and administration departments.

Wirt is charged with developing financial strategies that address the association’s infrastructure and forward-thinking initiatives that guide its overall mission to support member jurisdictions in their efforts to protect public health and safety and ensure responsible and efficient systems for beverage alcohol distribution and sales.

“Having previously worked with Eddie, he has time and again demonstrated a professional work ethic and a willingness to help others with thoughtful problem-solving skills,” said Neal Insley, President/CEO. “NABCA is committed to providing near real-time information and value-added services to its members and others connected to the alcoholic beverage industry. Aligning our strategic goals with our financial plans to develop sustainable operations that give the most value to our diverse set of customers is key as we move forward,” he added.

Wirt has a 20-year career history with the Commonwealth of Virginia, working as a member of Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority’s (Virginia ABC) leadership team and leading a business analysis team at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles for three years. He brings to NABCA extensive experience in developing strategic proposals and corresponding financial plans.

“Eddie’s experience with non-profit accounting, internal controls, and information technology planning should also serve NABCA well in the future,” said Insley.

“NABCA is held in high regard across the country and among numerous international associations,” said Wirt. “I am excited to join this great team of professionals and to find pragmatic and financially sound solutions that enable the association to build upon its successes,” he said.
