Today, Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) announced the election of M.S. Walker, Inc. President Doug Shaw as Chairman of the Board. Addressing the association at its annual membership meeting in Washington, D.C., Shaw urged distributors to continue strengthening the three-tier system, the most efficient and safest alcohol distribution system in the world.
“Every WSWA member is a champion for the value of the wholesaler, industry partners, and key stakeholders in the system that works so well to serve consumers during an exciting time of innovation,” says Shaw. “WSWA members nationwide are energized and committed to working with the entire WSWA team who leverage tremendous passion, energy and expertise, every day.”
On the future of the association and its strategic priorities, Shaw detailed ongoing efforts to continue building upon important diversity and women’s leadership initiatives, elevating Access LIVE as the premier industry event, developing WSWA’s SipSource into a best-in-class data product, advocating for the comprehensive federal regulation of cannabis, and countering state-by-state efforts to bypass the robustly regulated marketplace.
